        Professor Suck-Joo Na is the Professor emeritus at the Mechanical Engineering Department of KAIST.
        He was the President of the Korean Welding and Joining Society in 2007 and 2008, the President of the Asian Welding Federation in 2013 to 2014, and is the Fellow of the Korean Academy of Science and Technology since 2008. On international level, Professor Na was appointed a Fellow of the American Welding Society in 2005 and a member in Technical Management Board (TMB) of IIW from 2010 to 2012.
        His studies have won international and domestic awards many times, among others Charles H. Jennings Memorial Award from AWS, Excellent Cooperative Research Award from LG group, and Best Paper Award from KWJS, the Yoshiaki Arata Award from IIW, and a FiDiPro (Finland Distinguished Professor Program) Professorship from Tekes of Finland. Recently Prof. Na was awarded the Humboldt Research Award from Alexander von Humboldt foundation of Germany, and designated as the 2017 IIW Fellow Award.
        Professor Na has published more than 500 papers, including 166 original papers in international scientific journals. During this period, he has been regularly represented as a plenary speaker (5 times), keynote and invited speaker (21 times), session chairman and scientific committee member. In 2014, he gave the Houdremont lecture in the International Conference of the IIW.
